What does it mean to be your own boss? Is it for everyone? Well if you have a natural entrepreneurial spirit that comes up with innovative ideas and your ideas align with what the society wants and needs the answer is a definite yes. But is it enough to be a success?

The truth is, being your own boss is no simple task. It means never having a comfort zone and it also means showing up for yourself and your business every single day. A recent survey in The US showed that more and more people are getting out of corporate rat race to start their own businesses and this trend will be seen increasing in the year 2020.

Now a huge part of becoming a success in anything is, knowing your real reason for doing that what you are doing or wanting to do. You should be honest about why you would like to start your own business. Because knowing deep inside the reason for your decisions and actions will help you during your tough times. It is a deciding factor for your success.

Are you starting a business to show other people that you have it in you to be a success? Are you doing it because you are tired of your current job? Are you doing it because you truly have a passion for that field and you also want to contribute to this world? It is important to have a reason that will have depth and meaning and that could be timeless.  It is important to have a reason that will resonate with you even after many years. It is also important that this reason does not come from your ego but from your highest self who wants to give back.

You could start working on your project as soon as the idea comes to you no matter your age or occupation. It is possible to start a part-time hustle while still having your usual full-time job. It all boils down to how determined you are and how much you are investing in your self-growth. Another step in making your dreams a reality is getting the right team. Have people around who can help you in areas where you lack expertise.  One of the most famous quotes of Steve Jobs is, “It doesn’t make sense to hire smart people and tell them what to do; we hire smart people so they can tell us what to do.”

I started Paradise Planet Earth with the intention of doing my best to give back, contribute and to create awareness. This was my real reason for starting this venture while still having a very demanding full-time job. Here at Paradise Planet Earth we encourage traveling with purpose by organizing traveling events to Nature endowed places and engaging in physical pursuits and soul searching activities which also leads to donating to the orphanages and hospitals and people in need. We are into animal rescue, forest conservation and we do our best to increase awareness about global warming and unfortunate living situations of children in Africa.

Today this venture and its growth give me a soul level satisfaction that no corporate ladder-climbing could ever give me. I know that I am living on purpose and fulfilling my duties and this could not have been possible if I had hesitated when this idea came to me in the beginning. As I have said above if your reason for starting a business or NGO or anything that you want comes from a self- less non-ego driven inner soul and you stop making excuses you will make miracles and touch lives of many people.

So starting a business and being your own boss is a perfect blend of having a big picture while getting every single nitty-gritty detail right.   It is about not letting your fears or excuses to determine your actions.  It is about making the right decisions and having the right team to execute your plan. It is also about knowing your destination and having a clear road map to get there. It is about being your own motivation and inspiration even on your darkest days.

So if you are a teenager reading this know that you can be your own boss if you are ready to do the work. If you are a burnt-out employee reading this know that you can change your career path and be your own boss at any time. There is nothing wrong in working for someone if you do not mind building their dreams and executing their visions for the rest of your life.
